![]() An example would be if a student is stressed about an upcoming exam. ![]() It’s the practice of using dreams to allay a patient’s anxiety and/or depression. But the murderer may have used a new therapy trend called lucid dream treatment. That would be too difficult according to the psychologist Jamie’s consulting. We soon learn the murderer didn’t hypnotize the victims into killing themselves. Jamie goes to a psychology research facility for advice on the case. ![]() Awaken’s humor is so cheeky and unexpected. And I’m pretty sure my neighbors didn’t appreciate it. Do you need spending money?” I shriek with laughter. But is apparently willing to be a sugar daddy to young, beautiful men! I was worried when Attorney Nam didn’t fall for Ji-wan’s act, so when he lets Ji-wan grab him and responds with, “Yes, you are my type. Too bad Attorney Nam doesn’t buy his charade, because he’s good at “sniffing out money”. He really commits himself to his role as a rich man in need of help with investments. Ji-wan is hilarious and cute as the distraction. This can’t be legal, but Jung-woo and the gang are trying to save Son Min-ho’s life, so I won’t criticize their methods too heavily. The team concocts a scheme to access Attorney Nam’s laptop, so they can hack into Son Min-ho’s home security system when Attorney Nam goes to visit. We get some big laughs and the most pulse-pounding ending I’ve seen since Flower of Evil. Now that we know both Jung-woo and Jamie are from White Night Village, episode four goes into how the murderer could be killing their victims, and if anything the team’s learned so far can help them save the next one. Which is saying a lot, because episodes one through three were excellent! In this case, it's a pretty grim reminder about how the quest for eternal youth or playing God has serious consequences.I didn’t think it’d be possible, but I liked this episode more than the first three. It almost reminds me of the comedy movie Death Becomes Her in that aspect. This series also tries to show the futile search for eternal youth (which is trying to play God) as there are side effects that those who take the serum will eventually have. Jung Woo as the anti-hero with supernatural powers wants to get rid of Baekya Foundation's minions. However, it turns out that these lucid dreams were supernaturally induced by Jung Woo himself. For instance, they don't easily dismiss the possibility that the victims of lucid dreams were drugged. This series beautifully tries to integrate realism with non-realism. Oh Jung Hwan (Kim Tae Woo) is trying to achieve immortality at the cost of others. Il Do is a scientist working for Baekya believing that the sinister research is for the best of humanity. Gong Hye Won (Kim Seol Hyun), my stupid reason to check this show out, has to face off against her OWN FATHER, Gong Il Do. The fraternal twins Jung Woo and his Americanized twin sister Jamie Leighton (Lee Chung Ah) have to face off against their mother Jo Jin Hye. What's worse is that some characters are related to the antagonists. In reality, this charity has been exploiting children and many have died. The plot goes from 28 years ago when Baekya Foundation runs a charity. Yes, this show is full of nightmare fuel - the viewers' discretion is ADVISED! Here's Awaken from Netflix which is another weird case of science fiction x police drama - as if it's so new, right? The last one I checked was Tunnel with Choi Jin Hyuk - a guy who's done several action roles already. The beginning shows some supernatural cases as the main character Do Jung Woo (Namkong Min) as a child displays some supernatural powers in nearly the same manner as Village of the Damned. Well, here's another surprise watch! Well, it's something that I did decide to finally stop doing my HOBBY posts with Super Sentai and Kamen Rider for my newest trend.
